Robin A Bernhoft, MD, graduated with honors from Harvard College and near the top of his class at Washington University School of Medicine. He did a General Surgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco, and a Fellowship in Liver and Pancreatic Surgery at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital, London, UK. He combined the private practice of surgery with membership on the clinical faculty of the University of Washington Surgery Department until soap allergies disabled him from the practice of surgery. He retrained in Environmental Medicine and is now Medical Director of the Bernhoft Center for Advanced Medicine in Ojai and Santa Monica, California. He has lectured frequently at national and international medical meetings and is the author of 28 peer reviewed papers in medicine and surgery, four abstracts and three books. He is a past President of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine and is a Fellow of that academy and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (inactive). He has boards in Surgery and in Environmental Medicine and is Board-eligible in Clinical Metal Toxicology. Rashid A. Buttar, DO, FAAPM, FACAM, FAAIM, graduated from Washington University with a double major in Biology and Theology, and went on to attend medical school at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, College of Medicine and Surgery.
